One of the most influential authoritative media in the world, The New York Times, which published a special report focusing on the differences between Chinese and Western cultures, "collision between Chinese and Western cultures, and transnational corporations' time to run in response", interviewed Donghua University foreign language teacher Tamara Brodinsky of Donghua University and Raffles school. She was good at using flexible new teaching methods in the process of teaching Chinese students, and successfully resolved the differences between Chinese and Western cultures in ways of thinking and behavior, and achieved excellent teaching results.

This report focuses on the cultural differences encountered by foreign companies when they enter China. The article points out that education is the biggest source of hindrance to Chinese employees' thinking and work in the western creative way. In this regard, New York Times highly admired the new teaching mode adopted by Donghua University Raffles International Design Institute. This article introduces Tamara Brodinsky, a foreign teacher from Donghua, who often uses flexible methods to guide students to adapt to the integration of Chinese and Western cultures.

In class, teacher Tamara encourages students to break the fear of teachers and their inherent authority. She will often move chairs to students next to students in class, so as to shorten the distance from students. Of course, she also understands and takes into account the fact that Chinese students pay more attention to face problems in public places. Therefore, the class will be divided into group discussions in advance to avoid embarrassment for students. Mr. Tamara said he would try to adapt his students to western thinking and take into account their feelings. "I try to ensure that students do not feel like they are aiming at individuals when they put forward some ideas and suggestions to students."

In this regard, New York Times commented: "this teaching guidance mode can help students gradually change their cultural mindset, and enable them to adapt themselves to the western and Chinese workplace with this international approach and benefit from life." The new international education model pioneered by the Donghua University Raffles School of international design is perhaps one of the solutions to the cultural collision of western enterprises in China. Under the background of global economic integration, China is also in urgent need of an educational system that is highly integrated with the west, so as to train high-end professionals who are suited to the globalized workplace, innovative ability, highly consistent with western people in their work and without cultural differences. In the conclusion of the New York Times, New York Times put forward that "optical English is not enough for Chinese people". Having international education background and global thinking is the key to professional talents to play a grand role in multinational companies.
